Keeping it simple

We've had a lot of comments and posts on the AG Forum over the past little while about our HFN pickups and I appreciate the input that we're receiving.

When I was on the bench doing service and repairs for close to twenty five years, I never had happy thoughts about cutting humongous holes in the sides of guitars in order to stuff in a side mounted preamp.

I've always designed our pickups to be as light and as non intrusive as possible and it's nice to know that I'm not the only one that values simplicity in design and execution.

For the HFN series for steel string we utilize one single piezo element mounted to a structure that contacts the bridge plate in three locations.  The sensor is soft mounted to the pickup base and the pickup base is soft mounted to the bridge plate. The pickup base is 3D printed in ABS and it is the 3D printing that allows us to set the densities within the structure as well as the transmissive qualities of this part.
